About this chapter
1 Kings 22 — Divided Kingdom Period
Unknown (possibly Jeremiah) — Court historians and prophets during the divided kingdom. Set in Ramoth-gilead, battlefield on Israel's eastern border. Ahab convinces Judah's King Jehoshaphat to join him in battle, but when 400 prophets promise victory, Jehoshaphat insists on hearing from Micaiah — the one prophet Ahab hates because he never prophesies good news. Micaiah's vision of God's throne room reveals a shocking truth: God has sent a lying spirit to lure Ahab to his death. Despite trying to disguise himself in battle, a random arrow finds the gap in Ahab's armor, fulfilling every prophetic word.
