Romans

16 chapters · 433 verses · Paul · ~57 AD

Paul's masterpiece — the most systematic explanation of salvation ever written. Martin Luther read it and sparked the Reformation. You can't understand Christianity without it.

Overview

Romans is Paul's theological magnum opus. He explains why everyone needs salvation (chapters 1–3), how it works (3–5), what it means for daily life (6–8), why Israel still matters (9–11), and how to live as a transformed community (12–16). Chapter 8 alone — "no condemnation... nothing can separate us from the love of God" — has sustained more believers through suffering than perhaps any other chapter.
